Hi, I’m Nicola!
I’m the groomer behind Trixie Tails Pet Grooming. I’ve always loved working with animals and have built my experience through education, hands-on animal care and professional grooming.
My aim is to provide a calm, kind and personalised grooming experience where every pet is treated as an individual.
My Journey
A Lifelong Love for Animals
My love of working with animals started long before Trixie Tails. I studied animal care at levels 2 and 3 at college, then continued my education at university, completing a Foundation Degree and Bachlor’s Degree in animal management.
Alongside my studies, i spent around six years working with dogs and cats in a boarding kennels and cattery. This gave me invaluable experience with animals of all different breeds, personalities and temperments.
I later decided to turn that exprience into a career in grooming, completing my professional dog grooming training in 2025 before launching Trixie Tails later that year. Since then, i’ve continued developing my skills, including further training in cat grooming and offering specialist services such as hand stripping and Emmi-pet teeth cleaning.
A Little Extra Patience Goes a Long Way
Nervous Pets
Working with nervous pets and those with behabioual challeneges is something i personally love.
For me, groominh isn’t just about achieving a lovely finish. sometimes the biggest achievement is a nervous dog taking that first step through the door, allowing something they couldn’t manage at a previous appointment, or simply beginning to relax and trust me.
I love taking the time to build that relationship at the pet’s own pace. Seeing their confidence grow from one appointment to the next and knowing i’ve helped make grooming a little less scary for them is one of the most rewarding parts of what i do.

The name behind Trixie Tails
Trixie was my grandma’s dog before she bacame mine.
She was my ultimate little partner and when it came to choosing a name for my business, i knew she had to be part of it.

The face behind the logo
Otto is my little pup and the little silhouette you’ll spot in the Trixie Tails logo. It felt right that he had his own place in the business too, and who’ll you will sometimes see causing kaos behind the scenes.
